Opportunities

We welcome new and enthusiastic lab members! Please contact Kathryn with information about your interests.

For Uni Glasgow students: Every year we host some undergraduate and Masters research projects. There are opportunities to fit into existing projects already underway in the lab or to develop your own. We also sometimes need fieldwork volunteers.

For EU and International Students: We often host international internships for example through the ERASMUS EU programme, Leonardo da Vinci EU exchanges, Brazil student exchanges, etc.  Glasgow is an ERASMUS+ partner with a number of worldwide institutions.

For prospective PhD students: I am always happy to discuss future possibilities and funding options; please contact Kathryn with your interests. For University-level funding and entry requirements for PhDs, please see the University of Glasgow information on funded research programmes.

For postdocs: Please contact Kathryn with your interests and a short CV. A number of fellowships are open for applications, for example through Glasgow Polyomics/Wellcome TrustMarie Curie Individual Fellowships or other EU Horizon 2020 avenues, as well as numerous other university, UK (e.g. Newton Fund) or EU initiatives. Kathryn Elmer is a member of the Alexander von Humboldt Network, which has opportunities for Germans to receive funding for fellowships for research here in Glasgow.

Internships: We have hosted students and staff on funded internships or research visits from UK, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Austria, China ... to name a few! Contact Kathryn with your interests well in advance to discuss options.
